After spending years studying in Chen Village he left and created his own style of Taijiquan on the principles and techniques he had studied. Yang Family Taijiquan (as any style of Taijiquan) adheres to 13 principles and works to keep the fighter in constant balance while manipulating the opponents energy against themselves. There are five families of Taijiquan and each has subsects within. Here is the list of styles in chronological order - Chen, Yang, Wu, Wu Hao, Sun styles. The Chen, Yang, and Sun styles differ most from one another. Wu and Wu Hao are off-shoots of Yang and look almost identical to old Yang style. |
