About Us

Plum Blossom Academy was founded in 2004 by Randy Brown and Bruce Sanders. Its mission was to introduce authentic Chinese Martial Arts to the Metro Northwest Boston area. Since then, the school has evolved and grown into something far better than the founders anticipated - a successful growing business with many satisfied customers.

Its mission has evolved to include providing the best martial arts instruction you can find while maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable learning environment for its students. Our goals are for each of our students to make progress and learn legitimate skills (in whichever program they are undertaking) without requiring decades of study, or natural ability.

We strive for good business practices (no contracts or other deceptive sales tactics), excellent customer service, and top notch 'Adult' Instructors dedicated to helping their students improve. As a result, we are an optimal choice for Kung Fu and Tai Chi in the area.

The Plum Blossom (Mei Hua)

The 'Plum Blossom' is an auspicious symbol in Chinese culture because of its ability to blossom in the early spring when the tree branches are still covered in snow. This flower is symbolic of 'strength through adversity' or 'overcoming hardships'.
