Immediately, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to his training. Four years later, moving to the Boston area for work he continued his Chinese Martial Arts training with Boston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute.

In March 2004, Shifu Brown opened what is now Plum Blossom Academy. In May of that same year he qualified for Nationals and in August 2004 went on to win two Gold Medals in Traditional Chinese Hand Forms and Traditional Chinese Spear Forms at the US Wushu Union 2004 Nationals.

In 2006, Shifu Brown's ceasless quest for finding the application/meaning behind Chinese Fighting Arts led him to the West Coast. As of June 2006 he has been studying under Shifu Tony Puyot of San Diego, CA. In August 2006 he was accepted as a formal student of Shifu Puyot, training Chinese Boxing, Seven Star Praying Mantis Boxing, Application of Chinese Martial Arts, Tai Chi, Push Hands, Ground Fighting, and Shifu Puyot's unique and highly effective methods to fighting/training people to fight.
